That’s why I’m saying usage rate should just not be used at all, with exceptions for those who truly understand what it means, what the character’s kit does, or what level of investments are necessary for these characters (e.g. That’s the point I’m trying to make if it wasn’t clear. But in this game where you basically invest in everything, (through your money, time, and effort), usage rate alone should not be used for that kind of decision-making or for starting off discussions. Imo it’s not actually a good thing since it allows the players to think that this unit is actually viable even in the long run just because it shows a high usage rate now. People who do 36 stars are usually meta chasers, if she wasnt good or meta her usage rate wouldnt be high to begin with, as only hardcore simps would use her and her use rate would be at maybe 20%. If the character was bad, why would you purposefully handicap yourself by using them? You would just use them in the overworld. But this is true for every character, not just low ownership characters. Does it has bias? Yes people who got the character is more likely to use it. But if the size is 10k and 3k people have the character, and 2.7k use the character to 36 stars abyss, then it does show the aforementioned character is extremely valuable for that abyss iteration specifically. If 30 people have a character and 30 use it, ok fine, thats shitty. Usage rate imo is a decent metric at a high sample size. I dont have anything against it but it should be taken with a grain of salt, and never as absolute proof of anything, but there is nothing wrong with discussing it, as it does have some worth imo. The way this website gathers data however not so much, but they dont have much choice anymore. I dont know why people are so against usage rate.
